QRF to host Beach Touch Rugby on National Sports Day

The Qatar Rugby Federation will host the annual Beach Touch Rugby challenge in association with the Woqod and Katara during the National Sports Day (NSD) on February 14.
The event, which is limited to 16 teams only, will be held at the Katara International Sports Beach No.4. 
The beach challenge is proudly sponsored WOQOD and is expected to have plenty of passion and flair but the QRF's emphasis is on 'Sports Fun in the Sun'. The challenge will start at 8AM and concluded by 6pm.
The participating teams vary in diversity and skill with some been rugby clubs or touch rugby teams while others are schools or corporate. There are two teams who have never played rugby before, WOQOD & Katara, which will provide a fresh group of players impressing on health and fitness in the work place. 
Teams will be divided into 4 preliminary pools of six teams. 
The top eight is identified on competition points and for and against. This top eight will then play in the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and if they manage through, also in the finals.
The opening match is scheduled for at 8.00am and the finals finishing between 5.00 and 6.00pm. 
There will be light entertainment for families and kids, DJ music, beach prizes, and lots giveaways. The event is free and open to all the community of Qatar.
